What is preventive care?

Preventive care is the care you receive to prevent illness and/or disease. It also includes counseling to prevent health problems.

What is an Annual Wellness Visit (AWV)?

The annual wellness visit is a yearly appointment with your primary care provider to create or update a personalize prevention plan. This plan my help prevent illness based on your current health and risk factors. Keep in mind that the AWV is not a head-to-toe physical.

What is a Physical?

A physical examination is a routine test your primary care provider performs to check your overall health. There are different tests that can be performed during you physical examination. Depending on your age or medical or family history, your PCP may recommend additional testing.

Why do I need Vaccinations?

Getting vaccinated can help keep you from getting sick. If you do get sick, being vaccinated can also keep you from getting severely ill. Plus, being vaccinated can help protect those around you from getting sick.

Why should I have regular labs and other testing done?

Lab work and other testing help doctors check for certain diseases and conditions. It is important to have regular labs and testing done to help prevent and/or detect potential health problems.
